Great Lengths is the only hair extension company that gained certificates for Quality and Occupational Health and Safety
Right from the very beginning, quality has played a decisive role for Great Lengths. The same can also be said of its concern towards the health of its employees. Its production facility situated in the town of Nepi near Rome therefore received certification under the quality management standard ISO 9001:2008 and under the occupational health and safety management system OHSAS-18001:2007. Our endeavors concerning all aspects of quality and health protection were thereby confirmed by an independent body. Great Lengths is the only provider of extensions in possession of both these certificates anywhere in the world.
Continual improvement of quality also monitored externally from now on
Quality management systems ensure that a company is run in a clear and systematic fashion, and that certain basic principles are verifiably adhered to. The quality management standard ISO 9001:2008 covers such areas as considering the demands of customers, responsible dealings on the part of the management and the intention to conduct fair business with suppliers.
A particular important tenet of this standard is to achieve constant improvements in the quality of the products. It is not enough simply to adhere to the designated quality standards – instead there should always be a commitment to attain ever-higher levels of quality. At Great Lengths, this has long since been the case. From now on, this continual betterment is also monitored by an independent body.
Employee health confirmed as a fundamental value
Health and safety management systems make a significant contribution in avoiding workplace accidents, injuries and illnesses. The health and safety management standard OHSAS 18001:2007 in particular goes even further – it helps to promote employee health in the workplace.
NEW: ISO 14001:2015 - ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS STANDARD
The international standard ISO 14001 sets out the criteria for an environmental management system (EMS) and can be certified to. It provides the framework that a company can follow to set up an effective EMS. Together with other management systems standards, e.g. ISO 9001, it can assist in accomplishing organizational goals.
Using this voluntary standard, ISO 14001 can provide assurance to company management as well as employees that environmental impact is being measured and improved.
As with ISO 9001, the standards of ISO 14001 refer to the manufacturing process of a product, not to the product itself. Again, the certification is performed by third-party organizations and not by ISO directly.

Employee health confirmed
as an important virtue
With these certifications, Great Lengths has put down a clear benchmark for the entire extensions sector. Chief executive Anita Lafer: “These certifications make it clear just how important the continual improvement of the quality of our products and the health of our employees is to us!”
